Will Fundraising with candles be as good as the gift-wrap, chocolates or coupon books we have been selling in the past?

There are many factors that contribute to a successful fundraiser, which make it impossible to guarantee success in any fundraising program.  However, candle fundraising programs have been as successful, if nor more so, than most of the products sold today and has a tendency to have a higher rate of purchases per consumer.

Can we be successful if we only have a small organization?

Successful fundraisers are not dependent upon the amount of members in your group. We have seen many small groups and even individuals that have sold outstanding amounts of candles as a fundraiser.

Do many people buy candles?

Last year, the candle industry did over $2.3 Billion in sales and is growing at an estimated 10%!  While we cannot predict how many candles you will sell for your organization, the consumers love our candles and ask for them time and again!

If we sell candles two years in a row, will the second year be as successful as the first?

Past experience has shown that the second year using our fundraisers is even MORE SUCCESSFUL because people are aware of the quality and value of our candles and buy more than they did the year before.

Why is the “quality” of candles so important?

We constantly search and hand-select fragrance oils from around the world so that our candles give off a pleasing scent when burned.  If it is an apple scented candle it will smell like real apples, not a perfume.  We take immense pride in our process, which assures that every aspect of our candle is done with personal pride.  We truly believe that the key to having a long term relationship with your fundraising organization and their customer base is to offer a candle that is far superior to any other on the market today.

Are these candles too expensive as a fundraising product?

Our gourmet candles have value, are naturally clean, and represent a healthy alternative to unhealthy paraffin candles on the market today.  They are priced in the same range as many paraffin candles and have a proven track record for great fundraising results!

Why are there two wicks in the 16 oz. jar candles?

We use 2 wicks so that the candles burn evenly and release the maximum amount of fragrance from the first time you light the candle right down to the end.

Are the wicks lead/zinc free?

The wicks are made from 100% cotton and contain no lead or zinc.  And although our wicks are considered self-trimming, we recommend that you maintain their length at 1/8 to 1/4 inch to at all times and to not burn a candle continuously for more than 3 hours at a time.

I have noticed some black residue on the jar candles, is this soot?

The “soot” that most people are concerned about comes from using paraffin in candles (because of the oily residue).  All items that are burned (including alternative candles) must give off some percentage of soot.   Our percentage of soot is significantly lower than most candles and if you are seeing black around the rim of your jar, you most likely need to trim the wicks of the candle. They should be between 1/8” and 1/4" to minimize any black smoke.  Some fragrances are also prone to give off more residue than others.  Just remember that our candles are natural and lead/zinc free, so while you may see some black smoke or residue on your jar, it is non-toxic and safer to breathe than regular candles.

Are your candles made of 100% soy?

The original formula called for 100% soy candles, but it was determined that this formulation did not hold enough scent well, causing the scent to puddle at the top instead of distributing evenly all the way throughout.   However, by adding additional natural and renewable ingredients to the soy base, we were able to formulate a better and more consistent smelling candle that has the same unbelievably realistic scents from top to bottom.

Where are the candles made?

All of our candles are made out of our corporate office, warehouse and manufacturing plant located in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.  We are made in America so you can feel good about supporting our economy.

How much money can I make?

That depends on you entirely. The important thing is what you earn will be based on your own efforts. Together, I can help you customize a business plan that works for you and your interests, strengths and goals.

Return to FAQ Index

How soon will I make money?

Again, that depends on you. Many people make money their very first day by just calling a few friends and letting them simply smell the candles.  This is where your sampler pack is SO important.  The question really is "How much do you want to make your first month?"

How do I get started?

All you have to do is complete the sign up form and if I am enrolling you, your enroller will be Kristina Ewing and my ID is 22752. Do not put anything in the placement box. Make sure you order the Candle of the Month and if you want to start making money right away, I would suggest buying at least one sampler case.

Next, order enough brochures, postcards and catalogs to promote your business how you choose. These are your sales aids and come in very handy not only for the consumer, but also to help you get more aquatinted with the products.

Finally, explore your Company website and the back office!  Remember that this site is free when you sign up for the Candle of the Month distributorship and can be a great sales aid and reference guide.  And the back office site is full of helpful information, tools and ideas to help you jump-start your business from those who have been there before you.

Retailingcan be done through friends, family, open houses, home parties, retail stores, craft shows and boutiques, county fairs and street fairs, business expos, while out and about, etc.

Fundraisers - sports teams, school PTA's, church groups, youth groups, dance studios, non profit organizations, school bands, boy/girl scouts, etc.

Residual Income - I will teach you how to sponsor people that come to you and are ready to start a business and help you build a residual income just by helping others be successful.

How much time do I have to devote to starting my new business?

It's not quantity of time that matters, its quality of time.  So, as long as you are willing to make whatever time you have be productive time, you can have a successful business.

I don't want to talk to people I know, can I still be successful with this business?

Yes, you can. Although I encourage you to at least let your friends, family and others know about your new business and let them smell the candles. You do not have to tell them about the business side, or even ask them to buy anything. Simply tell them what you are doing and ask if they have any ideas.  Personally, I share the products with my friends and family, but only talk to them about the business if they come to me and ask.

Still have questions?

Email Me and let's get them answered!
